Raheen, Nr Clonroche Co Wexford

I was very lucky to secure more Local Agenda funding and this time from Wexford’s county council. I delivered my ‘Gardening for Biodiversity’ project to a well established and active gardening group based in Raheen’s family resource centre. UCD, Masters Environmental Resource Management (2009)

I completed a detailed analysis of the natural and built heritage including the local history of the Dublin Mountains Way between Shankill and Johnnie Fox’s Glencullen. I explored how the heritage values could promote the proposed Special Area Amenity Order (under Dun Laoghaire Rathdown’s County Plan for a number of years) for Carrick Golloghan and surrounding areas. This area is rich in built and natural heritage but at the same time under pressure due to the proximity of Dublin and its urban areas.
